About Cribbage Hand Lab
Cribbage Hand Lab is a small independent utility for checking a hand and understanding its score. It is built and maintained as part of an independent calculator and utility website portfolio.
How the count works
The calculator checks every group of cards for fifteens, every equal-rank pair and every longest run. It then applies the hand or crib flush rule and checks for nobs. The starter is always the fifth, separately labelled card.
The implementation is tested against worked examples and an independent total-only scoring algorithm over 10,000 generated hands in both modes. Automated checks do not replace your judgment during an official game. Follow the applicable tournament rules and referee.
What it is for
Use it while learning, reviewing a hand after play, or explaining a count to another player. It does not play against you, calculate pegging, or recommend discards.
Contact and corrections
For a scoring problem, save or copy the count and include the five cards, hand/crib mode and the result you expected. The portfolio's existing contact channel is the portfolio contact page. Mention Cribbage Hand Lab so the report reaches the correct project. This links to an existing channel; it does not create a new mailbox.
Funding and independence
